Farm Manager, Sustainable Agriculture

We are looking for an experienced and passionate Farm Manager to oversee operations at our progressive agricultural facility. This role involves managing all aspects of farm production, from crop planning and cultivation to harvesting and post-harvest management. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of modern agricultural techniques, sustainable practices, and farm management principles. This position requires hands-on involvement and leadership on the farm, based in Bhubaneswar. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and profitable operation of the farm while promoting environmentally sound practices.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement annual farm plans, including crop selection, planting schedules, and resource allocation. Oversee all daily farm operations, including irrigation, fertilization, pest and disease control, and harvesting. Manage and supervise farm staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. Ensure adherence to sustainable agriculture practices and environmental regulations. Monitor crop health, yield, and quality, implementing corrective actions as needed. Manage farm equipment and machinery, ensuring proper maintenance and operation. Maintain detailed records of farm activities, production, expenses, and yields. Manage inventory of seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and other supplies. Develop relationships with suppliers, distributors, and agricultural service providers. Implement new technologies and innovative farming techniques to improve efficiency and productivity. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Horticulture, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus. Minimum of 5 years of experience in farm management or agricultural operations. Proven knowledge of crop production, soil management, and integrated pest management. Experience with sustainable and organic farming practices is highly desirable. Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills. Proficiency in farm management software and basic accounting principles. Ability to operate and maintain farm machinery. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure. Valid driving license. Passion for agriculture and a commitment to sustainable practices.
