Agronomist Specialist

Our client, a leader in sustainable agriculture, is seeking an experienced Agronomist Specialist to join their team in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, IN . This role is crucial for advancing our client's mission of promoting efficient and environmentally responsible farming practices. You will be responsible for providing expert advice and technical support to farmers, conducting field trials, and developing innovative agronomic strategies to enhance crop yield and quality. This position requires a deep understanding of soil science, plant physiology, crop management, and integrated pest management techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducting soil analysis and developing tailored fertilization programs for various crops. Advising farmers on best practices for crop cultivation, irrigation, and pest/disease management. Designing and implementing field trials to evaluate new crop varieties, fertilizers, and management techniques. Monitoring crop health and diagnosing plant diseases and nutrient deficiencies. Developing and executing integrated pest management (IPM) strategies. Collecting and analyzing data from field experiments and farm operations. Providing technical training and workshops to farmers and agricultural extension workers. Researching and recommending sustainable farming methods, including organic practices and water conservation. Collaborating with research institutions and government agencies on agricultural development projects. Preparing reports on crop performance, soil health, and agronomic recommendations. Staying updated on the latest agricultural technologies and research findings. Contributing to the development of new agricultural products and services.

The ideal candidate will hold a Master's degree or Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Science, Plant Science, or a related agricultural discipline. A minimum of 5 years of practical experience in agronomy, crop production, or agricultural extension is required. Strong knowledge of local agricultural practices and challenges in the Uttarakhand region is highly advantageous. Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software is preferred. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills are essential for effective farmer outreach and collaboration. The ability to work independently and manage field activities is crucial. Familiarity with precision agriculture techniques and GIS mapping tools is a plus.
