Role Description The Environmental Scientist will be responsible for conducting on-site field investigations, sampling, and environmental monitoring in and around Darbhanga. Daily tasks include collecting and analyzing environmental data, preparing technical reports, and supporting environmental impact assessments for projects in sectors such as infrastructure, industry, and land use. The role involves coordinating with internal teams and clients, documenting findings, and ensuring compliance with relevant environmental regulations and standards. The Environmental Scientist will also assist in developing mitigation measures, recommending best practices, and supporting environmental consulting assignments. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Darbhanga, requiring regular field work and occasional travel to project locations.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Environmental Science and related disciplines, with the ability to apply scientific principles to real-world environmental issues.
• Hands-on experience or strong interest in Field Work, including sample collection, site inspections, and on-ground environmental monitoring.
• Knowledge of Wetlands ecology, conservation practices, and assessment methods for sensitive or protected habitats.
• Understanding of Environmental Impact Assessment processes, including baseline studies, impact analysis, and mitigation planning.
• Exposure to or interest in Environmental Consulting, including client coordination, regulatory documentation, and project-based deliverables.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, or a related field.
• Ability to interpret environmental data, use basic analytical tools, and prepare clear, concise technical reports.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the capacity to work safely and effectively in field and on-site environments.
• Familiarity with environmental regulations and guidelines applicable to water, soil, air, and habitat protection is an advantage.
• Willingness to work primarily on-site in Darbhanga and to travel to field locations as project needs arise.
