As an Operator-Building within our Facilities Management Department, you will be responsible for providing the necessary maintenance, repair, replacement of equipment, and repair and cleaning of all PRP facilities and surrounding grounds, ensuring a safe and efficient environment.
What will your typical day look like?
- Assists with new construction and renovation tasks such as installation of electrical/communication wiring, light fixtures, ballasts, carpets, plumbing fixtures, plastering, tiling, framing, painting, locksmithing, etc.
- Inspects fire extinguishers, generators, health and safety equipment and supplies.
- Assists with corrective maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic systems, and electrical systems.
- Collects and safely secures confidential shredding.
- Washes, spraybuffs, strips and refinishes floors; vacuums, dusts, re-stocks and cleans washroom areas, cleans windows, washes walls, cleans carpet and upholstery.
- Performs groundskeeping duties.
- Performs cell inspections in order to clean and disinfect areas as needed.
- Collects sharps boxes and arranges for the pick up of biohazardous waste.
- Assists with chemical testing and treatment of water systems including hot and cold, when needed, along with winterization of cooling systems.
- Escorts, liaises with and assists contractors when performing tasks in and around facilities.
- Monitors and maintains cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Completes reports, activity logs, work orders (TMA System), and inspection sheets as required.
- Assists with, monthly, health and safety inspections of PRP facilities, equipment and systems.
- Repairs damage caused by forced entries at public residences and businesses.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.

You are someone with:
- A High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- A minimum of one year experience in general building maintenance
- MS Outlook-preferred
- Demonstrated physical ability to perform all activities
- Valid Ontario Driver`s Licence (Glass G) with full driving privileges
- Required to be on call on a rotational basis

What we offer
The salary range for this permanent, full-time position is $60,471.00 - $94,848.00 per annum. Peel Regional Police offers a highly competitive compensation package; applicants will be considered for the top end of the range ($82,992.00 - $94,848.00) based on experience. The salary is complemented with a comprehensive benefit program, including employer-paid Health/Dental and Life Insurance; and the OMERS Pension Plan effective upon hire.
