Job Description

Senior Software Developer

Location: Washington, DC (5 days a week in office)

Job Summary

Join Leidos in supporting the ESA V program, an IT applications and infrastructure services initiative for the Department of Justice (DOJ). We are seeking a personable and articulate Senior Software Developer to ensure customer needs are met efficiently. This role requires a self-starter who can work with minimal supervision and possesses excellent communication skills to interface effectively with customers. The position is based full-time in the Washington, DC metro area at a primary customer location.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support full lifecycle development of custom applications using C# and the .NET ecosystem.
  • Design, develop, and test high-quality C# and .NET applications.
  • Collaborate with program managers, business analysts, and engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
  • Lead or contribute to architectural decisions and technical designs.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
  • Monitor and provide operational support to applications.

Basic Qualifications

  • BS degree with 12 - 15 years of relevant experience or a Master's with 10 - 13 years of experience. A Doctorate in a technical domain is also acceptable.
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance.
  • Strong proficiency in C# and .NET/.NET Core framework.
  • Experience in building and maintaining backend services and APIs.
  • Experience establishing goals and meeting project plan objectives.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented design principles and patterns.
  • Experience with relational databases (Oracle).
  • Ability to write and maintain system documentation on work products.
  • Experience with GitLab for source control.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Agile development experience.
  • Customer interface experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with modern web frameworks (ASP.NET Core, REST APIs).
  • Knowledge and experience with Model, View, and Controller (MVC) architecture.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (React, Angular, etc.).
  • Experience troubleshooting operational issues.
  • Government contracting experience, particularly with the DOJ.
  • Current DOJ Clearance.
