Diaries of a Mysterious Girl: A young woman’s intimate diary reveals her struggle with heartbreak, betrayal, and longing, as she searches for a place of genuine love and belonging, an imagined “Island of Love” where connection and care are unconditional.

The Project is a short narrative (Voice-Over) based film, which we are planning to produce into animation. We have produced the audio and are looking for an experienced animation director who can visualize it into a short film.

Role Description

We are seeking an Animation Director to join our team on-site in Montreal, QC. The Animation Director will oversee the creative vision and execution of animated projects, ensuring cohesive storytelling and high-quality visuals. Responsibilities include creating a vision for the narrative, directing animation sequences, supervising motion capture sessions, collaborating with teams on storyboarding, and coordinating with film production units to bring the creative vision to life.

We are planning to submit both the audio and the visual concept for a grant and other sources of funding to carry on the production. So the director is expected to be a part of the project as a whole.

Qualifications

• Experience in Animation Direction and Animation techniques
• Knowledge of Film Production workflows and best practices
• Deep understanding of narrative development and visual storytelling
• Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Film, or a related field is preferred
• Previous experience in managing animation projects is a plus
• Ability to work well in a collaborative and fast-paced environment
