Dispatch Operator- Full-Time - Government of Ontario Office
Position: Security Operations Dispatch Centre Operator
City: Toronto
Status: Full-Time
Hours: Monday-Friday 2300-0700
Pay Rate: $23.34/Hr
Internal Opening Date: June 11th 2026
Internal Closing date: June 18th 2026
External Closing Date: June 20th 2026
Job Description
In this key role, you will oversee a state of the art healthcare Control Centre. Your role will include the following:
- Monitor and operate numerous systems including, access control, CCTV, fire and life safety
- Make emergency overhead announcements
- Answer Telephones and dispatch calls
- Assist in tracking and deployment of security staff
- Handle a variety of dispatch duties including incident call taking
- Liaise with visitors, clients and staff
- Manage Lost & Found
- Manage the issuance and return of facility keys and ID/Access cards
- Issue Visitor and Contractor badges
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent deportment, customer service and presentable – Public facing/front facing position
- Working knowledge of CCTV, access control systems
- Experience in a supervisory role and dispatching preferred
This site is a Government of Ontario Building.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid CPR and First Aid Certification Level C (WSIB approved provider)
- Vulnerable Sector Check - to be completed upon hire
- Proficient in English (both oral and written)
- Must have a minimum 2 years of experience in security
- Diploma in Justice studies/police foundations is considered an asset.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB)
- Applicants who do not possess these certifications can opt into Paladin's Use of Force (UOF)/Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) training program prior to their onboarding training to ensure they meet the requirements of the position
- Please be aware: The UOF/MOAB certification is not paid as it is a pre-employment requisite; however, Paladin will cover all the costs of the training with a 6-month commitment to the position/availability
