Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Import/Export Manager to handle our international trade operations – from procurement and freight negotiation to customs clearance and DGFT compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end import & export shipments (air & sea)
- Prepare and verify all shipping documents: invoice, packing list, bill of lading, COO, etc.
- Classify goods under correct HS codes to minimise import duty
- Coordinate with CHAs, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters
- Negotiate freight rates and track shipments until delivery
- File for export incentives (RoDTEP, MEIS, drawback) and handle DGFT licences
- Ensure compliance with Customs, RBI, FEMA, and FTP regulations
- Liaise with export promotion councils (FIEO, TEXPROCIL, etc.)
- Handle pre-shipment and post-shipment documentation
- Resolve customs holds, demurrage issues, and documentation discrepancies
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (B.Com / BBA / MBA – International Business preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in import/export operations in India
- Strong knowledge of HS code classification, customs tariffs, and DGFT policies
- Hands-on experience with freight negotiation and CHA coordination
- Proficiency in MS Excel and email correspondence
- Good communication skills in English & Hindi (additional languages a plus)
Preferred (good to have)
- Diploma in Export / Logistics Management
- Experience with Latin American or European markets
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Tally ERP)
Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹65,000.00 per month
