About the Role

Introduction –

This role offers a strong opportunity to work at the centre of sales decision‑making within Oxford University Press, supporting a business that plays a meaningful role in advancing education and learning. The Sales Analyst role enables individuals to influence outcomes across regions, products, and customer segments by translating data into actionable insights.

For professionals already working in sales operations or analytics, this role represents a positive career move into a purpose‑driven organisation with strong values, long‑term stability, and scale. It provides visibility across Sales, Marketing, Editorial, Finance, Supply Chain, and Customer Service teams, offering broad exposure to how a complex education business operates.

The role is intellectually engaging and dynamic, combining data analysis, performance tracking, forecasting, and cross‑functional collaboration. It involves working with multiple data sources, CRM systems, dashboards, and reporting tools, while directly supporting field sales teams and leadership with insights that drive growth and efficiency.

Opportunity –

On a day‑to‑day basis, the Sales Analyst will analyse sales data and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly performance reports across regions and channels. The role includes evaluating product‑wise, territory‑wise, and segment‑wise trends to identify opportunities and potential risks, and supporting forecasting, annual planning, and demand estimation activities.

You will maintain and update CRM data to ensure accuracy across leads, opportunities, and customer interactions. The role involves tracking target versus achievement for field sales teams, highlighting performance gaps, and supporting Regional Sales Managers with dashboards, business reviews, and data insights.

You will closely coordinate with Supply Chain on stock planning and order fulfilment, work with Marketing on campaign rollouts and lead tracking, and support Finance on pricing, discounting, and commercial approvals. The role also requires monitoring competitor activity, providing market intelligence updates, preparing sales presentations and executive review materials, and responding to queries from multiple internal stakeholders.

At a broader level, this role plays a critical part in improving sales effectiveness, data accuracy, and decision‑making across OUP. By identifying opportunities to automate reporting, strengthening data hygiene, and tracking key metrics for schools, distributors, and institutional clients, the Sales Analyst contributes directly to better commercial outcomes and smoother execution across print and digital products.
