This position is with Equator Corporation, a subcontractor to Osi Vision LLC on the NASA TWEEDS contract. Position Summary
The Graphics Designer & Webmaster is responsible for supporting the strategic communications, digital presence, and workforce engagement initiatives of APPEL Knowledge Services (APPEL KS) and the Office of the Chief Engineer (OCE). This position serves as the primary resource for web content management, graphic design, multimedia development, video editing, and digital communications supporting NASA’s workforce development and knowledge-sharing mission.
The Graphics Designer & Webmaster develops and maintains content across NASA.gov, OneNASA SharePoint, newsletters, publications, podcasts, presentations, and other digital and print communications channels. The position works closely with TWEEDS leadership, subject matter experts, stakeholders, and communications teams to create engaging, visually compelling, and technically accurate content that supports workforce development, knowledge sharing, and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Communications & Workforce Engagement
- Support the strategic communications efforts of APPEL KS and OCE through the development of digital, print, and multimedia communications products.
- Create and maintain content for public-facing NASA.gov websites and internal OneNASA SharePoint sites.
- Develop graphics, presentations, articles, newsletters, outreach materials, case studies, white papers, and other communications products that support workforce engagement initiatives.
- Support interviews, publications, outreach activities, and workforce engagement campaigns.
Web Content Management & Digital Presence
- Serve as webmaster for APPEL KS digital platforms, ensuring content remains current, accurate, accessible, and aligned with NASA standards.
- Manage website updates, content publishing, navigation improvements, and digital asset organization across NASA.gov and SharePoint environments.
- Coordinate content development workflows and maintain processes that support efficient content creation, review, approval, and publication.
- Monitor and recommend improvements to user experience, content organization, and digital engagement.
Graphic Design & Multimedia Development
- Design and produce graphics, infographics, visual communications products, marketing materials, event collateral, and digital assets that support APPEL KS programs and initiatives.
- Develop multimedia content including videos, animations, learning assets, promotional materials, and digital storytelling products.
- Create artwork and visual branding elements that support APPEL KS courses, events, publications, and workforce development programs.
- Support virtual events, webinars, and knowledge-sharing initiatives through the development of visual and multimedia assets.
Podcast Production & Knowledge Sharing
- Develop promotional content and supporting communications materials for podcast episodes and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and guests to support successful podcast production and audience engagement.
Video Production & Editing
- Lead the planning, production, editing, and delivery of video content supporting APPEL KS workforce development, knowledge sharing, and strategic communications initiatives.
- Produce and edit instructional videos, promotional content, interviews, event recordings, course modules, executive messages, and other multimedia products for both internal and external audiences.
- Manage all phases of video production, including storyboarding, script support, recording coordination, editing, motion graphics, audio enhancement, captioning, and final publication.
- Create engaging visual content that effectively communicates technical and educational concepts to diverse audiences across NASA.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructors, leadership, and stakeholders to develop video content that supports learning objectives and organizational goals.
- Ensure video products meet NASA branding, accessibility, quality, and communications standards.
- Maintain video libraries and digital assets while supporting content distribution across NASA.gov, SharePoint, learning platforms, podcasts, social media, and other communications channels.
- Identify and implement innovative video production techniques, tools, and technologies to enhance audience engagement and knowledge transfer.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
- Recommend new approaches, technologies, and creative solutions that enhance APPEL KS communications, engagement, and knowledge-sharing efforts.
- Stay current on industry trends, design standards, multimedia technologies, and digital communications best practices.
- Support the development of innovative digital products and interactive learning resources.
- Identify opportunities to improve communications effectiveness, user engagement, and content accessibility.

Technical Requirements
Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, including:
- Adobe InDesign (required)
- Adobe Premiere Pro (required)
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Experience developing and editing multimedia content, including video and audio production.
- Experience managing website content using content management systems and SharePoint platforms.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, digital publishing requirements, and web content best practices.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 applications, including SharePoint, Teams, PowerPoint, and related collaboration tools.
