Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Assistant HR Manager to oversee end-to-end HR operations at our factory location. The candidate will be responsible for managing factory HR activities, statutory compliance, employee relations, recruitment, and workforce management for blue-collar and staff employees. The role requires strong knowledge of labor laws, hands-on operational capability, and the ability to independently handle on-ground HR challenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
HR Operations & Workforce Management
- Manage daily HR operations at the factory unit.
- Monitor attendance, leave management, shift scheduling, and manpower planning.
- Supervise contract labor management and coordinate with contractors/vendors.
- Ensure smooth HR support for production and operational departments.
- Maintain discipline and workforce productivity on the shop floor.
Statutory Compliance
- Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws and statutory requirements.
- Handle PF, ESIC, Bonus, Gratuity, CLRA, Factory Act, and related compliances.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, and documentation.
- Coordinate and support government inspections, audits, and compliance reviews.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and reports.
Recruitment & On boarding
- Manage recruitment for blue-collar workers, staff, and junior-level positions.
- Coordinate interviews, joining formalities, and induction programs.
- Handle employee documentation, background verification, and on boarding processes.
- Maintain manpower database and recruitment records.
Employee Relations & Industrial Relations
- Address employee grievances and disciplinary matters effectively.
- Maintain healthy employee relations and a positive work environment.
- Support employee engagement activities and welfare initiatives.
- Coordinate with department heads to resolve workforce-related issues.
- Handle basic IR matters and ensure workplace discipline.
Payroll & HR Administration
- Provide payroll inputs including attendance, overtime, leave deductions, and shift allowances.
- Coordinate with payroll/accounts team for accurate salary processing.
- Maintain employee records, HR MIS reports, and documentation.
- Prepare monthly HR reports related to manpower, absenteeism, attrition, and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate degree required; MBA / PGDM in HR preferred.
- 4–6 years of experience in factory/manufacturing HR operations.
- Hands-on experience in statutory compliance and labor law management.
- Experience managing blue-collar workforce is mandatory.
- Strong exposure to factory HR operations and industrial environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage extended working hours when required.
