Summary

As a Bakery Assistant/Doughnuteer, you will be an essential part of our team, responsible for food preparation, baking, and ensuring food safety standards are met. Your role will focus on delivering high-quality baked goods. With core skills in food handling and kitchen experience, you will assist in creating delicious treats and maintaining a clean workspace. Your attention to detail and passion for baking will help elevate our bakery's offerings, making you a key player to our success in the food industry.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Must be able to follow established recipes
• Maintain product displays and to follow rules of FIFO (First in and First out)
• Prepare doughs and batters
• Decorate/finish pastries and baked goods
• Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards.
• Must be able to follow direction
• Must be able to understand all concepts of food safety and rotation
• Maintain a clean work workplace environment

Qualifications and Requirements

• Must have valid Food Safe certificate
• High School Graduate
• Bakery experience an asset but willing to train the right candidate
• Attention to detail
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. frequently
• Applicant should be comfortable and prepared to work with commercial/industrial mixers, ovens, fryers as well as high output tortilla maker
• Occasional work in freezer/cooler

Experience

• Commercial Baking: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• WHMIS certification (preferred)
• food safe certification level 1 (required)
• driver's license (required)
• baking or culinary certification (Red Seal Certification) (preferred)
