Job Description
Become a key player in patient care at Inverness Consolidated Memorial Hospital as a Utility Worker for Nutrition and Food Services. This role focuses on meal preparation, cleaning, and adhering to food safety protocols.
The Utility Worker provides essential support within the NFS Patient Food Service department. Reporting to the Food Service Supervisor, you will serve meals, sanitize equipment and trays, and assist in kitchen operations. This position emphasizes providing excellent service to patients, staff, and visitors while ensuring top-notch food safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble and serve meals for patients and visitors
- Prepare nourishing menu items and beverages
- Deliver and collect patient trays efficiently
- Manage food inventory and storage practices
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas
Requirements
- Grade 12 or equivalent is an asset
- Previous restaurant experience preferred
- Strong customer service skills considered valuable
- Ability to work as part of a team
