Role Description The Freelance Writer at Notion Islamabad will create clear, engaging written content that supports the community’s learning, events, and outreach efforts. This full-time, on-site role in Chennai involves drafting blog posts, newsletters, event summaries, learning materials, and social media copy tailored to the needs of Notion users. The writer will research relevant topics, interview community members or organizers when needed, and ensure content reflects the group’s inclusive, growth-oriented values. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing content calendars, revising materials based on feedback, optimizing copy for readability and basic SEO, and collaborating with organizers, designers, and volunteers. The role also involves maintaining a consistent voice and style across all channels and contributing ideas for new content formats and campaigns.

Qualifications

• Strong writing, web content writing, and basic copywriting skills, with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and channels.
• Experience with content planning and strategy, including managing content calendars and aligning content with community or organizational goals.
• Solid research abilities, including synthesizing information from multiple sources and interviewing subject-matter experts or community members.
• Proofreading and editing skills to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency in grammar, style, and structure.
• Familiarity with digital platforms and social media, and comfort writing short-form content for engagement and community growth.
• Interest in productivity tools; prior experience using Notion or similar platforms is a strong plus.
• Ability to work on-site in Chennai, manage deadlines independently, and collaborate respectfully in a diverse, inclusive environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Media Studies, or equivalent practical experience preferred.
