Job Description
As a Category Strategic Sourcing Manager, your role involves developing and delivering a comprehensive category strategy to ensure alignment with provided materials for consistency. You need to attain in-depth knowledge of your markets, including sub-categories, regional developments, trends, and the supplier base. Additionally, understanding both the current and potential needs of your stakeholders is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct a challenge process for every 2026 renewal, focusing on eliminating low-value subscriptions or services, renegotiating pricing for underutilized offerings, and driving competitive pressure before renewal deadlines.
- Leverage Suppliers fiscal pressures, market conditions, and contract anniversaries to secure deeper discounts, optimized rate cards, and value-added services.
- Focus on long-term relationships with key suppliers to drive shared innovation and priority access to materials, protecting against market disruptions and enhancing savings.
- Rationalize the supply base by shifting volume to preferred, high-performing suppliers to achieve a 3% reduction. This consolidation will increase leverage, improve service consistency, and reduce administrative overhead.
- Prevent unnecessary purchases through demand management, eliminating rogue or "maverick" spend that leads to significant value leakage.
- Work with the DEI team to identify opportunities for the inclusion of diverse suppliers in sourcing events.
- Support and monitor supplier adherence to contracts, manage suppliers via supplier activity reporting and business/performance reviews, and conduct supplier scorecards, supplier rationalization, and demand management opportunities.
Qualifications Required:
- In-depth knowledge of supply chain management and procurement.
- Demonstrated experience in sourcing for indirect categories, such as IT.
- Strong analytical, sourcing, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suites with advanced Excel skills.
- Experience with ERP systems, such as Peoplesoft.
- Superior project management skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
- 10+ years of experience in Indirect Sourcing & Procurement or equivalent education and work experience.
- Graduation or above degree in Business, Supply Chain Management MBA, or other advanced degree, along with a professional Procurement/Supply Chain Management designation (e.g., CSCP, CPM), are a strong plus.
