S2627-03 HR Generalist

This is a temporary full-time (1.0 fte) position commencing no later than the end of July, with the possibility of earlier or later depending on the successful candidate. We are seeking a temporary Human Resources Generalist team member who has specialized in Human Resource processes. The assignment involves assisting and supporting the Human Resources department with the possibility of some Payroll duties. Depending on the location of the successful candidate, this position can be based out of the Bonnyville or Lac La Biche office. Interested applicants must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work independently.

The successful candidate duties may include:

• File and respond to telephone, email, and in person inquiries from the public and staff
• Maintain HR information by collecting, entering, and maintaining employee documentation
• Prepare documentation relating to new hires, terminations, leaves, and retirements
• Assist staff with absence entry and weekly authorization
• Provide general administrative assistance to the Payroll, Benefits and Human Resources Department as needed
• Completing various internal and external reports and participating in surveys

Preference will be given to applicants who have:

• Business Administration, Human Resources Diploma or Degree
• Training and/or Experience in the field of Human Resource
• Basic knowledge of current Alberta Labour and Employment Legislation
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Familiarity with collective and union agreements
• Demonstrated high standards of ethics and confidentiality to handle sensitive information
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Flexible and adaptable to changing needs of the organization, while handling stressful situations with professionalism
• Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Applications
• Familiarity with Atrieve ERP or a similar database

Salary Range: $51,042 - $66,566
