Job Summary
The Construction Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily site activities, managing labour and subcontractors, ensuring work is executed as per drawings and quality standards, and maintaining safety compliance. The foreman ensures timely completion of assigned work with proper manpower, materials, and tools.
Key Duties & Responsibilities1. Site Supervision
- Supervise daily construction activities at site.
- Allocate work to workers based on project requirements.
- Ensure work is completed as per schedule and targets.
- Monitor productivity and ensure efficient labour utilization.
2. Labour Management
- Maintain labour attendance and daily manpower records.
- Guide workers and resolve labour-related issues on site.
- Ensure discipline and proper work coordination among workers.
- Arrange skilled/unskilled manpower as per site needs.
3. Work Execution & Coordination
- Execute work as per drawings, specifications, and instructions from engineers.
- Coordinate with Site Engineer for work planning and task execution.
- Ensure proper use of tools, machinery, and equipment.
- Coordinate with subcontractors for smooth work progress.
4. Quality Control
- Ensure construction work meets quality standards.
- Check workmanship and correct mistakes immediately.
- Ensure materials are used properly and avoid wastage.
- Follow method statements and approved construction practices.
5. Safety Compliance
- Ensure all workers follow safety rules and PPE usage.
- Maintain safe working environment at site.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately to the Safety Officer / Engineer.
- Assist in toolbox talks and safety awareness programs.
6. Material Handling & Monitoring
- Ensure materials are received, stored, and used properly.
- Monitor material consumption and avoid shortages/wastage.
- Inform engineers in advance for material requirements.
- Assist storekeeper in verifying material delivery and usage.
7. Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily work progress reports.
- Maintain daily labour attendance and productivity reports.
- Inform engineers about delays, issues, and site requirements.
- Assist in measurement and quantity tracking when required.
8. Coordination with Other Departments
- Coordinate with electrical/plumbing teams during execution.
- Support QA/QC and safety teams during inspections.
- Assist engineers during client/consultant inspections.
Skills & Requirements
- Good knowledge of construction work (civil/finishing/structural).
- Ability to read and understand drawings (basic).
- Strong leadership and labour handling skills.
- Knowledge of safety rules and site discipline.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Qualification & Experience
- Minimum: ITI / Diploma / 10th / 12th (preferred).
- Experience: 3 to 8 years in construction site supervision (as Foreman / Supervisor).
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
