The Community Outreach Coordinator will play a pivotal role in strengthening Nisa Foundation’s presence in the community, building meaningful relationships, and increasing awareness of programs and services across the Kitchener Waterloo Cambridge Region. This role provides hands-on experience in outreach, event planning, research, and stakeholder engagement. The Coordinator will work closely with the National Outreach Manager and regional teams to ensure outreach initiatives align with organizational goals and create lasting community impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Community Research and Relationship Building:
- Conduct local research to identify key community needs, demographics, and engagement opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local organizations, community leaders, and stakeholders to foster collaboration and support for Nisa Foundation’s initiatives.
Event Planning and Execution:
- Plan, organize, and host outreach events, ensuring effective promotion and high-quality execution.
- Coordinate all logistics for events, including venue setup, materials preparation, and communication with attendees to ensure smooth operations.
Community Promotion and Awareness:
- Create awareness of Nisa Foundation’s programs through targeted campaigns, leveraging local networks, social media platforms, and in-person interactions.
- Serve as an ambassador for the Foundation, representing its mission and values with professionalism.
Data Collection and Reporting:
- Track and analyze outreach efforts, including event attendance, partnerships formed, and feedback received from the community.
- Provide regular updates to the Regional Manager, including a final report summarizing outcomes, insights, and recommendations for future outreach.
Collaboration and Teamwork:
- Coordinate with the Regional Manager and other team members to ensure outreach efforts align with organizational goals and priorities.
- Participate in weekly check-ins to review progress, address challenges, and receive guidance.
Administrative and Logistical Support:
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, expenses, and partnerships to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with grant requirements, deadlines, and organizational policies.
EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Community Development, Social Work, Communications, or a related field.
- Previous experience in community outreach, event planning, or stakeholder engagement is an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in event planning, coordination, and logistics management.
- Ability to conduct research and analyze community data effectively.
Eligibility
This position is part of the Canadian government’s summer job program.
- Candidate must be legally eligible to work in Canada(Canadian citizen, permanent resident of Canada, or a protected person within the meaning of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. Able to provide a valid Social Insurance Number (SIN).

- Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
