Senior Frontend-Focused Full-Stack Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior or Staff-level Full-Stack Software Engineer (Frontend-Focused) with a strong track record of owning and delivering end-to-end product features in production systems.

This role is not about isolated UI work or ticket-driven frontend tasks. You will own major customer-facing features from concept through production, shaping frontend architecture while influencing APIs, data models, and system behavior to ensure complete, high-quality outcomes.

You should bring deep expertise in modern frontend engineering, including performance, state management, and maintainability at scale, along with the ability to reason about how frontend decisions impact backend services and data flows. While your primary focus is frontend, this is a true full-stack role: you are expected to work comfortably across service boundaries, collaborate closely with backend engineers, and contribute to backend code where necessary to unblock delivery and maintain end-to-end ownership.

Responsibilities

• Own the design, implementation, and evolution of major user-facing features, building scalable, high-performance web applications in TypeScript/React that integrate cleanly with backend services in a microservices architecture.
• Define and maintain a shared frontend component system, setting standards for consistency, accessibility, and long-term maintainability across the product.
• Drive frontend architecture decisions that balance performance, scalability, developer productivity, and product velocity over the long term.
• Partner closely with Design, Backend, and Product to translate complex requirements into cohesive, intuitive user experiences, while influencing API and system design to enable clean end-to-end solutions.
• Improve developer experience across the web stack, investing in tooling, abstractions, and patterns that make it easier to build and maintain robust frontend applications.
• Lead feature delivery across the stack, coordinating frontend and backend work to ensure features are complete, production-ready, and operationally sound, with the expectation that you will actively contribute to backend services when needed to maintain true end-to-end ownership.
• Set a high quality bar through thoughtful design, code reviews, and hands-on contribution, delivering code that balances speed, correctness, and long-term sustainability.

Qualifications

• Significant professional experience building and operating production web applications, with deep hands-on use of TypeScript and modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React) in real-world, customer-facing systems.
• Strong command of TypeScript as a design and correctness tool, not just a transpilation layer—applied to large, evolving codebases.
• Proven experience designing, evolving, and maintaining shared component systems or design systems, with a focus on consistency, accessibility, and long-term maintainability.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture and best practices, including performance optimization, accessibility standards, and scalable state and data management.
• Demonstrated ability to work with a high degree of ownership, balancing independent execution with effective collaboration across engineering, product, and design teams.

Bonus Points:

• Previous experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
• Experience with Kubernetes and cloud-based technologies.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, and end-to-end test frameworks like Playwright.
• Previous experience building and maintaining large-scale React web applications.
• Experience with data visualization libraries and techniques.
