Job Description Nursing Incharge

Position Summary:

The Nursing Incharge is responsible for overseeing the nursing operations in a mother and child care hospital. This role involves ensuring high standards of patient care, managing nursing staff, and coordinating with the medical team for seamless care delivery. The Nursing Incharge also ensures compliance with hospital policies, promotes continuous learning, and maintains a patient-centered approach.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care Management:

  • Ensure high-quality nursing care is provided to all patients, particularly mothers and neonates.
  • Oversee patient assessments, care planning, and treatment implementation.
  • Monitor critical cases and provide necessary guidance or interventions.

Staff Supervision and Coordination:

  • Supervise, guide, and evaluate nursing staff to ensure competency and professionalism.
  • Plan duty schedules, manage shift rotations, and address staffing issues.
  • Conduct team meetings to communicate hospital goals and updates effectively.

Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with medical, legal, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct regular audits of nursing procedures and documentation.
  • Address patient and staff grievances promptly and effectively.

Training and Development:

  • Identify training needs and organize skill development sessions for nursing staff.
  • Mentor junior nurses and encourage professional growth within the team.
  • Stay updated on best practices and advancements in maternal and child health care.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain records related to staff performance, patient care, and resource utilization.
  • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., pediatrics, gynecology) for interdisciplinary care.
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and medications for the nursing department.

Emergency and Crisis Management:

  • Take charge of emergency situations in the absence of higher authorities.
  • Ensure readiness of the nursing team to handle any critical care situations efficiently.

Educational Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (B.Sc Nursing) or a Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM).
  • Post-graduate qualifications in nursing or healthcare management are a plus.
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
  • Prior experience in maternal and child care is preferred.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
