The Opportunity
Join Neysa as a Senior System Engineer – Linux System & Storage, where you will take ownership of advanced system administration, troubleshooting, and infrastructure reliability in a 24x7 environment.
You will act as a key escalation point for critical issues, drive resolution of high-severity incidents, and contribute to improving system performance, automation, and operational excellence across data center and office environments.
What You’ll Achieve In This Role
- Lead resolution of critical incidents and complex infrastructure issues
- Ensure high availability, performance, and security of Linux and storage systems
- Strengthen operational maturity through process adherence and documentation
- Drive automation and efficiency across infrastructure management
- Act as a technical mentor and escalation point for L1 and L2 teams
Roles And Responsibilities
As a Senior System Engineer – Linux System & Storage, you will:
- Perform advanced configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of Linux systems, storage, backup, hardware, and applications
- Provide technical support and guidance to L1, L2 teams and clients across communication channels
- Be available for 24x7 operational support in rotational shifts
- Handle escalations, severity incidents, and critical projects
- Respond to and resolve incidents, requests, changes, and problems within SLA
- Work on service improvement plans (SIPs) and assigned initiatives
- Ensure adherence to defined processes and operational procedures
- Maintain high availability and uptime of infrastructure systems
- Prepare handover checklists, plans of action (POA), shift reports, SOPs, and KEDB documentation
- Ensure all activities are logged and updated in ticketing systems
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive faster resolutions and improvements
Required Qualifications
- 8 to 12 years of experience in Linux System Administration & Storage
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (preferred)
- Strong experience working in enterprise or data center environments
- Proven ability to handle critical incidents and escalations
Primary Skills (Must Have)
- Strong expertise in Linux OS and infrastructure management
- In-depth knowledge of networking concepts: DNS, DHCP, SSH, TCP/IP, SMTP, IP, Iptables/Firewalld
- Experience with web servers and load balancers: Apache, Nginx, HAProxy
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills (logs analysis, event correlation)
- Strong knowledge of storage technologies: LVM, RAID, SAN, NAS, iSCSI
- Proficiency in scripting and automation: Python, Shell scripting, Ansible, Terraform
- Experience with containerization and orchestration: Docker, Containers, Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with backup technologies: Bacula, Commvault, Veeam
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools: Prometheus, Grafana
- Exposure to provisioning tools like Foreman and MAAS
- Understanding of virtualization platforms: KVM, Proxmox
- Basic knowledge of AI model deployment and fine-tuning
- Experience in driving automation and infrastructure optimization initiatives
