Position Overview

We are seeking an Internal & External IT Specialist to support internal IT systems and operations, with involvement in select external client environments. This is a full‑time, on‑site position based at our Concord, Ontario office.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Chief Information Officer (CIO) and external IT consultants who provide guidance and oversight. The role is designed to assist the CIO in executing day‑to‑day IT operations, while collaborating with cybersecurity expertise to ensure alignment with best practices, risk management, and compliance requirements.

This position encompasses internal IT support responsibilities as well as select external client work, particularly related to infrastructure, security, and access control systems. The role requires a hands‑on, detail‑oriented professional who is comfortable working within a structured governance framework and supporting both operational and project‑based initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Internal IT Support & Operations

  • Support day‑to‑day internal IT operations across all departments
  • Assist the CIO with implementation and maintenance of IT policies, standards, and procedures
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support and escalation handling
  • Support and maintain:
  • Microsoft 365 environment (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive)
  • Azure / Entra ID identity and access management
  • End‑user devices and endpoint management
  • Servers, storage, and backup systems (on‑prem and/or cloud)
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, licensing, and access controls
  • Maintain IT asset inventories, documentation, and system diagrams

Infrastructure & Networking

  • Assist with administration and troubleshooting of:
  • Network infrastructure (firewalls, switches, Wi‑Fi, VPN)
  • Internet and site connectivity
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for infrastructure support and upgrades
  • Support system patching, updates, and lifecycle management

Cybersecurity Collaboration

  • Work in collaboration with a retained cybersecurity consultant who provides guidance and oversight
  • Execute and maintain security controls under CIO and consultant direction, including:
  • MFA and access control policies
  • Endpoint protection and patch management
  • Security recommendations and remediation actions
  • Support documentation and preparation for security reviews or audits
  • Monitor and maintain security posture between scheduled consulting engagements

External Client Support

  • Participate in select external client projects and support activities, as directed
  • Provide assistance related to:
  • Milestone video management systems
  • Axis camera platforms
  • ICT and integrated security systems
  • Support deployments, maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation for approved external engagements
  • Ensure external work follows company standards and security practices

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in Canada
  • 7+ years of experience in internal IT or systems support roles
  • Hands‑on experience with:
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure/Entra ID
  • Windows‑based environments and endpoint management
  • Networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, firewalls, VPN)
  • General understanding of cybersecurity best practices
  • Comfortable working under CIO direction and collaborating with external consultants
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills
  • Ability to work full time on‑site in Concord, Ontario

Compliance & Screening Requirements

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Must be able to pass a clean Canadian Police Background Check
  • High level of professionalism, discretion, and reliability required

Continuous Learning & Certification Requirements

  • Ongoing professional development is a requirement of this role
  • Willingness to pursue continual learning and additional certifications, which may include:
  • Microsoft, networking, or cybersecurity certifications
  • Vendor certifications related to Milestone, Axis, ICT, or integrated security platforms
  • Training and certification efforts will be aligned with business needs and role responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting hybrid internal/external IT environments
  • Exposure to video surveillance, access control, or security‑focused systems
  • Experience coordinating with vendors and consultants
  • Familiarity with regulated or security‑sensitive environments
