The Opportunity

This is a full-time, on-site Controller/Accounting Manager role based in Acheson, AB. The role involves overseeing financial transactions, monitoring business controls, monthly working papers, daily bank reconciliation, overseeing AR and AP, GST reporting and monthly adjusting entries and supervising the accounting clerk. This is a key role within the organization, responsible for maintaining financial integrity and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including AP, AR, and general ledgers
• Prepare monthly and annual working papers
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Assist with year-end audit process and regulatory compliance
• Develop and maintain internal controls
• Provide financial insights to support business decisions
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff
• Assist in overseeing accounting a multi company organization

Qualifications

· Strong Analytical Skills for interpreting financial data and identifying trends

· Experience with Financial Statements and Financial Reporting to ensure accurate and timely documentation

· Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes

· Excellent excel skills

· Excellent organizational and communication skills

· CPA candidate preferred

· Knowledge of GAAP and preparation of working papers
