🔍 Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced SAP BTP ABAP RAP Developer to join our team as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role requires deep expertise in ABAP Cloud, RAP framework, and SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk) to design scalable, upgrade-stable, and enterprise-grade applications.
You will play a key role in solution design, technical leadership, and cross-team collaboration while mentoring junior developers and driving best practices.
💼 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Technical Responsibilities
- Design and develop RESTful OData Services (V2/V4) using ABAP RAP for seamless integration with SAP S/4HANA and modern UI applications
- Build and manage Business Objects (BOs) using Behavior Definitions (BDEF) and Behavior Implementations (BIMP)
- Implement transactional logic including CRUD operations, actions, validations, and determinations
- Architect advanced data models using ABAP CDS Views with UI, analytical, and search annotations
- Apply Clean Core principles using ABAP Cloud for side-by-side and in-app extensibility
- Develop solutions on SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk) ensuring upgrade stability
- Implement event-driven architectures using RAP Business Events
- Integrate with external systems via APIs to enable hybrid SAP & non-SAP workflows
🔹 Leadership & Collaboration
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP ABAP Cloud & RAP
- Lead and guide the team in technical decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Drive architectural discussions and contribute to key design decisions
- Mentor junior developers and conduct knowledge-sharing sessions
- Ensure adherence to coding standards, performance optimization, and best practices
🛠️ Required Skills (Must Have)
- Strong expertise in SAP ABAP Cloud
- Hands-on experience with RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model)
- Deep understanding of OData services (V2/V4)
- Expertise in ABAP CDS Views and annotations
- Strong object-oriented programming (OOP) skills
- Experience with SAP BTP ABAP Environment (Steampunk)
➕ Good to Have Skills
- Experience with SAP Fiori / Fiori Elements
- Knowledge of SAP HANA modeling and performance optimization
- Familiarity with API integrations & event-driven architecture
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
- Exposure to project management tools (JIRA, Azure DevOps, etc.)
