About the Role
This is an onsite position based in Chicago, IL, focused on managing international import shipments across both air and ocean freight.
You will be responsible for handling shipments end-to-end (A–Z), ensuring smooth coordination from origin through to final delivery. This role requires a hands-on operator who is confident managing multiple shipments, communicating with clients, and ensuring compliance with all import procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage air and ocean import shipments from start to finish (A–Z)
- Coordinate with overseas agents, carriers, and clients to ensure timely movement of cargo
- Prepare and review import documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Track shipments and proactively resolve delays or issues
- Communicate directly with clients, providing updates and managing expectations
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and internal procedures
- Work closely with internal teams including customs brokerage and accounting
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in air and ocean import operations within freight forwarding
- Strong understanding of end-to-end shipment processes (A–Z)
- Experience handling documentation, tracking, and client communication
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
