Underground Utilities Construction Foreman
Overview
National Service Contractors, Inc. is seeking an experienced Underground Utilities Construction Foreman to lead daily field operations for an onging small diameter water main and service line replacement contract in Washington, DC. The Foreman will supervise crew members and coordinate equipment assets to meet production milestones, and ensure all work is performed safely and in accordance with industry standards and the customer's specifications.
Itemized Duties Include:
- Lead field crew in accordance with the project schedule, work plan, contract requirements, and approved practices.
- Coordinate labor, equipment, materials, and subcontract support to keep operations productive, properly staffed, and cost disciplined.
- Implement daily work plans by quantity, worker classification, and work location, and monitor production, labor usage, and progress against the schedule.
- Serve as NSC's field representative in coordination with the owner and inspector.
- Support schedule updates, tracking reports, and follow-up on action items while promptly escalating field issues, delays, and change conditions to project leadership.
- Enforce safety, quality, housekeeping, and public-protection requirements.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 8 years of proven utility construction experience in underground utility, water, civil, or related construction work.
- Demonstrated experience supervising crews, meeting production targets, and reporting on active public works projects.
- Ability to read plans, specifications, schedules, and quantity-based work plans and translate them into clear daily direction for the field crew.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA requirements, jobsite safety practices, quality standards, contract compliance, and public works coordination.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, documentation, and follow-through skills
Requirements
- Must participate in a pre-employment and random drug screening program.
- Subject to background screening process.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
