Academic Dean -High School – CBSE

The Academic Dean is responsible for overseeing the academic programs of the high school section (Classes VI–X), ensuring compliance with CBSE standards, supporting faculty development, and driving student achievement. This role serves as the academic head of the section, reporting to the Principal and working closely with department heads.

1. Academic Leadership

• Supervise curriculum planning and implementation in line with CBSE guidelines.
• Monitor lesson delivery, assessments, and exam preparation.
• Ensure academic rigor and consistency across subjects.
• Introduce innovative teaching strategies and digital learning tools.

2. Faculty Management

• Lead and mentor subject teachers and department heads.
• Conduct teacher evaluations, classroom observations, and professional development programs.
• Facilitate collaboration among faculty for curriculum enrichment.

3. Student Achievement

• Track and analyze student performance data.
• Implement remedial programs and enrichment activities.
• Guide students in career counseling, competitive exam preparation, and skill development.

4. Administrative Duties

• Coordinate academic schedules, timetables, and examination processes.
• Ensure compliance with CBSE policies, school regulations, and accreditation requirements.
• Prepare academic reports for the Principal and management.

5. Parent & Community Engagement

• Communicate academic progress and initiatives to parents.
• Organize orientation programs, workshops, and academic events.
• Build good relationships with external organizations for academic enrichment.

6. Qualifications & Skills

• Postgraduate degree in Education or relevant subject with B.Ed
• Minimum 3 years of teaching/administrative experience in CBSE schools.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Expertise in curriculum design, pedagogy, and assessment practices.
