Position Overview:
The Museum of the Bible is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Photography amp; Videography Intern to join our Production Team. This internship offers a hands-on opportunity to gain experience in professional photography, video production, and digital asset management in a dynamic museum environment.
As an intern, you will work closely with the Senior Photographer and other members of the creative staff to document exhibits, events, behind-the-scenes moments, and more. You'll develop skills in lighting, editing, storytelling, and visual strategy while contributing to projects used in real-world museum communications—from social media and web to in-gallery and archival content.
This internship is ideal for students looking to develop their technical skills, creative voice, and professional workflow in a real-world setting.
Duties amp; Responsibilities:
- Assist with production setup and breakdown for studio and location shoots.
- Support camera operation, lighting, sound setup, and location scouting.
- Contribute to file management, image culling, and metadata tagging.
- Edit and format photography and video content for use in social media, digital platforms, and in-gallery displays.
- Participate in post-production workflows including color correction, sound sync, and media exporting.
- Help organize gear and learn proper maintenance of photography and video equipment.
- Collaborate with team members in creative meetings and contribute visual ideas.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a Photography, Film, Digital Media, or Visual Arts program.
- Eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative creative environment.
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Lightroom, Photoshop, Premiere Pro).
- Strong visual storytelling instincts and creative curiosity.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.

Learning Objectives amp; Milestones:
Phase 1: Orientation amp; Foundation Objective: Build technical foundation and become familiar with the Museum of the Bible’s visual brand and workflows.
Milestones:

- Shadow the production team and assist with lighting, gear setup, and studio organization.
- Receive introductory training in Adobe Lightroom and Premiere workflows.

Phase 2: Independent Contribution
Objective: Begin contributing original content while expanding technical and creative independence.
Milestones:
- Participate in shoot planning (storyboards, call sheets, location scouting).
- Shoot and edit internal photo or video content with supervision.
- Assist with digital archiving, file management, and metadata tagging.
- Deliverable: Produce a short photo essay or mini video story featuring a museum event, object, or space.
Phase 3: Capstone amp; Presentation
Objective: Complete a final independent project and reflect on professional growth.
Milestones:
- Pitch, shoot, and produce a final creative piece (short video or photo series).
- Present your work to the team, demonstrating design process and creative intent.
- Participate in a portfolio review and an exit interview to discuss future goals.
- Deliverable: Submit a completed final project suitable for portfolio use and internal presentation.
Work Environment
