Job Description
We are seeking to hire a full time, Heavy Equipment Operator/Foreman to run a small crew and operate heavy equipment. This position requires grading, excavating, loading, hauling, trenching, driving metal posts, and moving dirt to facilitate the completion of various earthwork projects.

Responsibilities
- Manage crew/job-site safety, production, customer service, equipment maintenance, crew members up to and including setting clear production plan/goals, accountability, attendance, on-the-job training, disciplinary actions and annual reviews.
- Set daily production goals with assistance from Superintendent and PM.
- Plan work 24 hours in advance and communicate additional resources/material/equipment needed to Superintendent/PM ASAP.
- Partner with Superintendent and PM daily to ensure project success or delays are transparent.
- Assist with developing recovery plan should a project fall behind schedule/off budget.
- Superior customer service - daily communication with on-site customer rep, maintaining professionalism of crew on job-site, keeping work area clean, organized, and secure.
- Safety awareness and management; daily communication and expectations clearly set, daily tailgate talk performed, OSHA and Company Policy compliance.
- Accountability of self and entire crew, including subcontractors on job-site (i.e. traffic control crews, saw cutting crew, sub excavator, etc)
- Maintaining company equipment on-site (grease, clean, track, secure, call off-rent, and communicate any damage/loss ASAP)
- Required to be on job-site no later than 6:30am unless project requires different start/stop time.
- Strong communication skills with internal and external partners.
- Administrative responsibilities daily/weekly. Foreman will be required to enter daily production into a production software on an iPad, take photos, enter notes, enter employee and equipment time daily and approve weekly.
- Positive, solution oriented, forward thinking attitude, contribute ideas and feedback, focus on process improvements and help initiate division wide, cannot be a ME/I mentality, must be a WE/TEAM mentality to ensure the Dry Utility Division is successful and continues to grow with a strong, positive culture.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience
- At a minimum, ability to efficiently operate mini excavators and/or bobcats (experience operating full sized excavators, loaders and dozers is a huge plus)
- Must be able to communicate directly with client and manage crew members
- Must have reliable transportation to the assigned jobsite daily.
- Current and valid Driver's License
- Must be able to pass federal background check.
Physical Requirements:
Employee must be physically fit to perform manual labor in all types of environments and conditions, including heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs.).
Regularly required to sit and stand, must be able to use hands to fingers, handle or feel and verbally communicate and listen.
Other physical requirements include walking, climbing or balancing and stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling. Specific vision abilities required by the position include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
