Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Electrician role based in Prince George’s County, MD. The Electrician will perform residential and light commercial electrical installations, repairs, and upgrades, including wiring, panels, lighting, and outlets in accordance with local and national electrical codes. Daily responsibilities include diagnosing electrical issues, troubleshooting system failures, performing routine maintenance, and recommending solutions that prioritize safety, efficiency, and customer needs. The role involves preparing accurate estimates, explaining work to customers in clear terms, and documenting all services performed. The Electrician will collaborate with team members, maintain company tools and vehicles in good condition, and follow all safety protocols and company policies while representing the Mr. Electric brand professionally at every job site.

Qualifications

• Solid foundational knowledge of electricity and electrical theory, with the ability to apply this knowledge safely in residential and commercial settings.
• Hands-on experience in electrical work, including wiring, panel work, installations, and upgrades, following relevant codes and standards.
• Proficiency in maintenance & repair of electrical systems and components, including routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to diagnose electrical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective, code-compliant solutions.
• Journeyperson status in Maryland (or ability to obtain), plus a valid driver’s license with a reliable driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and technical documentation, and to use standard electrical tools and testing equipment.
• Commitment to safety practices, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and company safety procedures.
• Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to explain technical issues clearly and professionally.
• Capacity to work independently and as part of a team, manage time efficiently, and handle the physical demands of on-site electrical work.
