Job Description – Department Manager (FMCG Retail)

Position: Assistant Store Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic and result-oriented Department Manager to oversee daily operations, drive sales performance, and ensure excellent customer service within the assigned department. The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, retail operational knowledge, and experience in managing teams in an FMCG or supermarket environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end operations of the assigned department.
• Drive sales growth and achieve department targets.
• Ensure product availability, proper merchandising, and stock replenishment.
• Monitor inventory levels and minimize stock loss/shrinkage.
• Lead, motivate, and supervise the department team.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and resolve customer concerns effectively.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, hygiene, safety, and store policies.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders for smooth operations.
• Analyze sales reports and implement strategies to improve productivity and profitability.
• Conduct regular team briefings and performance reviews.

Eligibility Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline.
• 4 to 8 years of experience in FMCG Retail / Supermarket operations.
• Strong knowledge of retail operations, inventory management, and merchandising.
• Team handling experience is mandatory.
• Good communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
