Role Description

This full-time role as a Food Scientist is on-site and located in Surrey, BC. The Food Scientist will be responsible for researching, developing, and improving food products and processes. Key tasks include designing experiments, analyzing food samples, ensuring regulatory compliance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role also involves optimizing food quality, safety, and shelf life while maintaining cost-effectiveness and aligning with sustainability goals.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in food formulation, product development, and food processing methodologies
• Experience in conducting laboratory experiments, data analysis, and testing for food safety and quality
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines, regulations, and compliance standards
• Proficiency in sensory evaluation and shelf-life studies
• Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams
• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Experience in the hospitality or consumer food industry is an asset
• Demonstrates creativity and innovation in developing new food products
