Job Description
We are now hiring an experienced family law attorney for a boutique practice in McLean, VA.
Duties are as follows:
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law matters, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Child custody and visitation
- Child and spousal support
- Property division
- Domestic violence/protective orders
- Adoption and guardianship
- Prenuptial and postnuptial agreements
- * Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents
- Draft pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and court filings
- Attend hearings, mediations, depositions, and trials
- Negotiate settlements between parties and counsel
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case status
- Manage case deadlines and court schedules
- Advise clients on legal rights, risks, and strategies
- Collaborate with paralegals, mediators, therapists, and financial experts when necessary
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Active state bar license in good standing
- Experience in family law litigation preferred
- Strong knowledge of state family law procedures and statutes
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Negotiation and courtroom advocacy experience
- Ability to manage emotionally sensitive situations professionally
