Infrastructure QA Lead (6 Month Contract)
Location: New Westminster, BC / Hybrid

Services
- Reporting to the Project Manager and coordinating with the QA Manager for QA governance, standards, quality gates, and sign-off recommendations. The successful candidate will provide quality assurance analysis services including, but not limited to, the following: 1.1. Duties include all aspects of Quality Assurance and Testing. 1.2. Operate under established QA standards: evidence-based validation, risk-based testing, quality gates, traceability, transparent reporting, and independent verification of vendor claims.
1.3. Partner With The QA Manager To Define/maintain
- Test Plan and Strategy
- QA gates (Entry/Exit criteria for SIT, Migration Dry-Run, Cutover Go/No-Go, Hypercare Exit)
- Minimum evidence expectations for vendor deliverables
- Defect severity model and readiness thresholds
1.4. Vendor Evidence Verification: Ensure evidence list is complete, auditable, and aligned with approved designs and operational standards, including:
- Review and validate vendor evidence packages for build/configuration completion, integration test results, failover/resiliency tests, performance baselines, and as-built documentation/runbooks.
- Perform independent QA validation (targeted, high-risk checks) across:
- Network (reachability, MTU, VRF/VLAN routing, convergence/failover, DCI/WAN integration impacts)
- Compute (cluster health, HA/DRS behavior, vMotion, capacity/resilience)
- Storage & SAN (LUN access, multipathing, dual-fabric behavior, controller failover evidence review)
- Coordinate & support Cybersecurity & Privacy stakeholders for required evidence/artifacts
- Operational readiness: monitoring/alerting, backup/restore, DR replication/failover readiness
1.5. Migration Readiness & Cutover Support
- Define/maintain migration readiness checklist and required sign-offs (vendor, Ops, app owners)
- Coordinate post-migration smoke validation and evidence capture with application owners
- Provide QA oversight during cutover windows and hypercare; support triage and verification of fixes
1.6. Other QA Lead Duties
- Collaborate with impacted teams to design, develop, execute, and maintain Test Cases, Scenarios, and Scripts
- Identify automation opportunities, develop and maintain automatable activities
- Manage and monitor test effort, results, and defects
- Participate and maintain risk register and issue triage outcomes
- Provide regular and ad hoc status reports on testing work and progress
- Validate completeness of knowledge transfer and training materials, operational runbooks, as-built diagrams
- Participate in daily standups and project-related meetings
Deliverables:
- QA/Test Plan & Strategy for Infrastructure & Network
- Risk-based Test Coverage map
- QA & Testing artifacts, including test outcomes, reports, defects, and checklists
- QA Gate Entry & Exit Criteria
- QA Sign-off readiness assessment documentation and Go/No-Go recommendations
- QA Go-Live/Cutover checklists
- Operational readiness runbooks, knowledge transfer, and training materials
Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent
- 3+ years of recent QA and Testing leadership (or equivalent) with infrastructure/platform/network programs
- Demonstrated experience in vendor-led delivery governance
- Strong understanding of Cisco networking concepts, converged infrastructure (FlexPod), virtualization (VMware), and storage/SAN fundamentals
- Solid understanding of QA/Testing best practices, risk-based testing, and quality gates across the SDLC
- Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset
