Application Analyst – Intermediate (12 month contract)

Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Content and Collaboration Services, the Application Analyst is responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and system maintenance for an Enterprise Database Archival Service hosted on the Cloudera Data Platform (CDP Public Cloud).

This role works closely with end users, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure platform stability, performance, and alignment with business objectives. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, along with a strong customer service orientation.

The Application Analyst will also provide analysis and recommendations related to process improvements and hosting infrastructure, including identifying risks, dependencies, business impacts, and interdependencies associated with project methodologies. This role serves as a bridge between business users and technical teams and must be able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance including software updates, patch installations, and system configurations to ensure platform stability and security
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials
• Work with Big Data and Business Intelligence technologies
• Maintain architectural-level understanding of CDP Public Cloud Base and Data Services
• Support end-user and infrastructure-related issues and provide temporary or permanent solutions
• Manage access requests, incidents, and change processes using ticketing systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
• Administer and audit CDP user access and data management across Console, Ranger, Virtual Warehouse, and Data Visualization
• Perform upgrades and patching of Data Lake, Data Hub, Data Warehouse, Virtual Warehouse, and Data Visualization components
• Manage system backups
• Migrate applications and data from development to production environments
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SSSD, FreeIPA, Azure IDP
• Troubleshoot Big Data ecosystem components including HDFS, Yarn, Ranger, Hive, Impala, Sqoop, Hue, Data Warehouse, and Data Visualization tools
• Troubleshoot Azure Kubernetes Services and Azure PostgreSQL (Single/Flexible Server)
• Manage Azure infrastructure components including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Private Subnets, Private Endpoints, Cost Management, Quotas, and Identity/Role configurations
• Administer RHEL OS and utilize Salt orchestration
• Build and optimize data lakes and data warehouses for analytical performance
• Design and develop dashboards and custom reporting solutions
• Transform raw data into meaningful analytics to support decision-making
• Analyze datasets and prepare reporting outputs
• Gather and document client requirements
• Escalate risks and issues as appropriate

Mandatory Requirements

Education

The Proposed Resource Must Meet One Of The Following

• University degree in a related discipline; OR
• Two-year diploma in a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution

Work Experience (Minimum 4 Years Each)

• Experience using Big Data platforms such as Cloudera Data Platform
• Experience with Azure infrastructure and services
• Experience with Big Data and Business Intelligence solutions
• Experience with CDP Public Cloud upgrades, patching, and system maintenance
• Experience with data warehouse and reporting tools
• Experience with Kubernetes clusters and Linux operating systems

Desired Qualifications

Work Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience planning, performing, and monitoring User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
• Minimum 2 years of experience managing Azure subscriptions and cost analysis
• Minimum 2 years of experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions
