MedPros is a healthcare management company that supports a network of family medicine and specialist clinics across Ontario. We specialize in clinic operations, billing management, physician recruitment, and start-up consulting. We are currently seeking an experienced OHIP Medical Biller with a strong background in Primary Care billing (FHO and FHO+) to join our growing team.
Position Overview
As an OHIP Biller, you will be responsible for full-cycle medical billing for multiple family practice clinic physicians. You’ll ensure claims are submitted accurately and efficiently, rejections and errors are resolved promptly, and physicians are provided with clear, detailed reporting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and has deep familiarity with OHIP billing workflows, codes, and payment schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle OHIP billing for multiple physicians across FHO and FHO+ models.
- Review, reconcile, and submit claims accurately through MCEDT or EMR-integrated platforms.
- Identify and correct rejected claims and billing errors to ensure timely resubmissions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of FHO and FHO+ billing rules, fee codes, and premiums.
- Generate detailed monthly financial and reconciliation reports for physicians and management.
- Communicate with clinic managers and physicians to clarify billing issues and optimize workflows.
- Track outstanding claims, maintain organized billing records, and ensure compliance with Ministry guidelines.
- Support the billing team and management with other administrative tasks as needed.
- Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of OHIP billing experience, preferably in Primary Care (FHO/FHG) settings.
- Strong knowledge of MOH fee codes, shadow billing, and premiums.
- Experience with EMR systems such as Oscar, Avaros, Accuro, and Telus PS Suite.
- Proficient in using MCEDT and associated billing software.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple physician accounts and deadlines.
- Experience with specialist or virtual care billing is an asset.
