Coding Coder

Role Overview:

As a Coder, your primary responsibility will be to utilize your coding skills to conduct audits and coding reviews, ensuring accurate and precise documentation. You will be assigning and sequencing all CPT and ICD-10 codes for services rendered, collaborating with billing staff to ensure proper payment of claims, and complying with all Medicare policy requirements. Your role will involve working independently, maintaining confidentiality, and upholding a professional attitude at all times. Additionally, you may be assigned other duties by the management team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure accuracy of documentation
• Assign and sequence all CPT and ICD-10 codes for services rendered
• Collaborate with billing staff to ensure proper payment of claims
• Comply with all Medicare policy requirements, including coding initiatives and guidelines
• Work independently and maintain confidentiality
• Perform other duties as assigned by the management team

Qualifications Required:

• CPC certification from AAPC or CCS certification from AHIMA
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Minimum two years of coding experience related to the specialty needed (IP DRG, OP Denials, SDS, etc.)
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel
• Proficiency in using job-related software
• Surgical coding experience is a plus
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
• Problem-solving and creative skills with the ability to make decisions based on accurate analyses
• High level of integrity, dependability, and results-oriented mindset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Gracious and welcoming personality for customer service interaction
