Hiring Unit: Department of Atmospheric and oceanic Sciences Position summary: Conduct organized research focused on active and passive remote sensing of clouds and precipitation systems. Utilize ground-based and space-based observational data for research activities. Perform research tasks with the ability to follow established protocols and procedures. Qualifying Skills: Experienced in applying machine learning and data science tools (TensorFlow, PyTorch, pandas, NumPy, Scikit‑learn) to analyze and model complex atmospheric and environmental datasets. Proficient in multi-language scientific and technical programming, including Python, C++, Java, Embedded C, LaTeX, and Swift, for developing algorithms, simulations, and research workflows. Skilled in research methodology, including modeling & simulation, quantitative data analysis, and producing clear, high‑quality technical and scientific documentation. Experience and education: Bachelor’s degree in atmospheric sciences or a relevant discipline (including computer science).
