POSITION SUMMARY: The Department of Mining and Materials Engineering at McGill University is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lab Helper A (casual) to assist the Lab Supervisor with maintaining up-to-date inventory and appropriately storing the starting materials. The incumbent will assist in conducting basic tests, collecting data and updating documents, and preparing and maintaining the lab environment clean before and after experiments. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in experiment setups involving minerals and powder samples Helps in cleaning up before, after, and in between experiments, making sure the laboratory work area is free of experimental samples Assist with labelling sample containers, cataloguing laboratory material/samples, collecting and entering data into established inventory databases Distribute and track sample items Qualifications: High School Diploma Excellent written and oral communication skills Well-organized, self-motivated, and excellent previous work attendance Willingness to learn important aspects of the project is a plus Previous work experience in a lab environment is an asset   Hiring Unit: Department of Mining and Materials Engineering Number of Positions: 1   Supervisor: Professor Kristian Waters   Total Hours Per Week: up to 18 hours per week Hourly Salary: $ 16.70   Location: McGill Downtown Campus « Connaissance du français et de l'anglais: L'Université McGill est une université de langue anglaise où les tâches quotidiennes peuvent nécessiter une communication verbale et écrite en anglais.  Le niveau d’anglais requis pour ce poste a été déterminé comme étant de niveau #4 (qualificatif) sur une échelle de 0-4.»   “Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
