About the Role
As an Additive Manufacturing Specialist, you will drive innovation by transforming digital designs into physical reality through advanced 3D printing technologies. You will serve as a technical bridge, collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality prototypes and tooling solutions that push the boundaries of product development.
Responsibilities
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain a diverse fleet of additive manufacturing equipment to ensure peak performance and output quality.
- Translate complex 3D CAD models and technical schematics into functional prototypes, fixtures, and production-ready components.
- Provide expert DfAM (Design for Additive Manufacturing) guidance to internal project teams to optimize part performance and manufacturability.
- Manage the end-to-end prototype lifecycle, from initial scheduling and resource planning to final quality verification.
- Utilize precision measurement tools, including CMM and 3D laser scanning, to validate component accuracy against engineering specifications.
- Coordinate with machining departments or external vendors to integrate hybrid manufacturing solutions when required.
- Maintain a high-standard laboratory environment, ensuring all safety protocols and documentation systems are strictly followed.
- Communicate technical insights and project status updates to stakeholders across all levels of the organization.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an industrial additive manufacturing or rapid prototyping environment.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and interpret GD&T and complex machine prints.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software and digital file preparation for 3D printing.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for extended periods.
- Commitment to maintaining rigorous safety and environmental standards in a manufacturing setting.
