Senior Mechanical Engineer - Robot Hardware Design

<h1>Role Description</h1> <p>We are seeking an exceptional Sr. Mechanical Engineer to design and test innovative robotic hardware ranging from overall robot architecture down to detailed design of robot subassemblies and mechanisms.</p> <p>In this role you will:</p> <ul> <li>Brainstorm and develop innovative and practical concepts for general purpose robotic systems.</li> <li>Work closely with our business development, modeling &amp; simulation, software, integration &amp; testing, and industrial design teams to define loading conditions, performance requirements and packaging.</li> <li>Design assemblies and components in 3D CAD from conceptual architecture through detailed design and drawing release.</li> <li>Work with vendors and manufacturers to produce your components.</li> <li>Support assembly, integration, and testing of robotic hardware.</li> </ul> <h1>Qualifications</h1> <p><em>Must-have:</em></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in mechanical engineering.</li> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, mechatronics, or similar field.</li> <li>Expert user of 3D CAD software to design complex parts and assemblies.</li> <li>Familiarity with structural design and analysis principles including FEA.</li> <li>Experience with electromechanical integration, including motors, sensors, servo drives, speed reducers, electronics packaging, and wiring.</li> <li>Self-starter attitude with strong ability to identify problems, prioritize them, then plan and execute working solutions.</li> <li>Enthusiasm for working in a fast paced startup environment and eagerness to support the team on a variety of topics.</li> </ul> <p><em>Nice-to-have:</em></p> <ul> <li>Experience designing high performance robotic systems including actuators and dexterous end-effectors.</li> <li>Experience designing and analyzing structures that are highly optimized for mass and stiffness.</li> <li>High volume manufacturing experience.&nbsp; Design of cast and molded parts.</li> </ul>
