MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting for a Writer (Level 1) to support corporate and technical communications in a hybrid environment based in Victoria.

This role focuses on developing clear, concise, and user-friendly communication materials that support operational processes, business initiatives, and stakeholder engagement. The successful candidate will work closely with subject matter experts to translate complex information into accessible content for a variety of audiences.

This position is well suited to a strong writer who is comfortable working with technical content, enjoys collaborating with stakeholders, and has an eye for both clarity and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop, and write clear and concise communication materials for internal and external audiences
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and interpret technical and operational information
• Translate complex processes and procedures into user-friendly documentation
• Revise and maintain content to align with updated processes, systems, and business requirements
• Prepare communication materials related to initiatives, including scope, schedule, purpose, and benefits
• Draft responses for customer or stakeholder escalations for senior leadership review
• Analyze business reports and prepare summaries for management and stakeholder distribution
• Ensure content aligns with internal writing standards, brand guidelines, and communication best practices
• Support document organization, version control, and content management within internal systems
• Incorporate basic design elements and formatting to enhance clarity and engagement

Requirements

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Writing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field (portfolio required)
• Minimum 1+ year of professional writing experience
• Strong ability to translate technical or complex information into clear, concise content
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint)
• Strong working knowledge of Adobe tools
• Experience using SharePoint Online and Microsoft applications
• Familiarity with tools such as Copilot or similar AI-assisted platforms
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with advanced English proficiency
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and version control practices

Assets

• Graphic design skills and ability to apply basic design principles
• Experience supporting technical, operational, or process documentation
• Experience working in utility, infrastructure, or regulated environments
