Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical

Senior Financial Analyst

to join the Technology & Information Services (TIS) team within Gas Distribution. This role supports financial planning, reporting, and performance management, partnering closely with stakeholders to provide actionable insights that drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver timely and accurate financial analysis and insights on operational and financial performance to TIS stakeholders
• Partner with business leaders to support the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, including both labour and non-labour cost planning
• Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data across TIS reporting systems
• Lead and coordinate monthly accrual processes to support accurate financial reporting
• Prepare and present monthly reporting packages (Budget vs. Forecast vs. Actuals), including variance analysis and recommended mitigation strategies
• Provide ad hoc financial analysis and reporting to support business decisions and strategic initiatives
• Standardize and enhance financial analytics and reporting processes across the TIS function
• Support compliance with SOX controls, audit requirements, and regulatory reporting obligations
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to streamline financial reporting and planning activities

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, or business performance analytics
• Advanced analytical and financial modeling skills
• Experience handling large datasets and translating findings into clear business insights
• Strong ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Preferred

• Professional designation (CPA, CMA, CA, CGA) or MBA
• Experience supporting IT or technology functions (Technology Finance experience is an asset)
• Understanding of financial controls, regulatory environments, and reporting requirements
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, and influencing skills
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Demonstrated experience improving processes and driving efficiencies
