Key Responsibilities

Polymer Procurement and Vendor Relationship:

  • Basic knowledge on the different polymer manufacturing processes and the characterization techniques of the raw materials.
  • Maintain and track the material inventory and storage of polymer materials.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key vendors and suppliers for the timely procurement of raw materials and chemicals.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials, address any supply chain or quality-related issues.
  • Collect and maintain documents related to raw material quality from the manufacturer.

Quality Assurance:

  • Perform routine testing on raw materials, polymer slabs, and finished polymer products to ensure they meet specified quality standards.
  • Verify the dimensions, tolerances, and visual defects on the finished product and note down the deviations and observations.
  • Conduct physical, mechanical, and chemical property testing, such as tensile strength, hardness, specific gravity, compression set, viscosity, and thermal properties.
  • Document and report test results, note any standard procedures, and initiate corrective actions if needed. deviations from
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and improvements.

Chemical Handling & Safety:

  • Handle and store chemicals, acids, additives, and reagents safely in accordance with regulatory requirements, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS/SDS), and laboratory safety guidelines.
  • Prepare, transfer, dilute, and dispose of acids using approved procedures, appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), and designated acid-handling facilities. Ensure safe storage, segregation, spill management, and emergency response readiness for corrosive chemicals.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols for working with hazardous materials. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
  • Collaborate inter-departmental R and D teams to improve polymer products and manufacturing processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Polymer Science, Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience in polymer manufacturing and quality testing, or a related field.

  • Experience with chemical handling, including safety procedures and storage regulations.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of polymer properties and behavior, including mechanical, thermal, and chemical characteristics.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard polymer testing methods (e.g., ASTM, ISO).
  • Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and testing instruments such as rheometers, tensile testers, hardness, microscopes, and spectrometers.
  • Attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality and safety.
  • Good problem-solving skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
