Deputy Manager - PPC Responsibilities & Key Deliverables As the Deputy Manager - PPC within the Supply Chain Planning & Control division at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and advancing the production planning processes to achieve optimal operational efficiency and elevate customer satisfaction. Your key responsibilities will include: Designing, monitoring, and controlling production schedules that align with business objectives and customer demands. Collaborating closely with product development teams to ensure seamless readiness of new products and manufacturing processes, facilitating a smooth transition from R&D to production. Calculating precise requirements for labor, materials, and costs, alongside conducting comprehensive cost-benefit analyses to drive profitable manufacturing operations. Leading initiatives to innovate sourcing strategies and supply chain solutions when product designs diverge from existing approved methods, fostering adaptability within supply networks. Implementing continuous improvement methodologies to optimize production workflows and enhance supply chain responsiveness. Coordinating with cross-functional teams including design, engineering, procurement, and quality assurance to ensure alignment of production goals. Driving supplier development programs and fostering strong relationships with key stakeholders to support sustainable business outcomes. Maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements within the automotive manufacturing context. Utilising advanced production planning tools and software to forecast demands and manage inventory levels efficiently. This role requires a strategic mindset combined with operational expertise to deliver measurable improvements in manufacturing productivity and product quality. Preferred Industries Automotive Industry Education Qualification A solid educational foundation is essential for success in this role. The ideal candidate will hold the following qualifications: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical discipline. Academic credentials accompanied by continuous professional development in areas such as production planning, supply chain management, or lean manufacturing are highly advantageous. Certifications relevant to production or project management (e.g., PMP, Lean Six Sigma) would be considered valuable in enhancing job performance. These qualifications equip the Deputy Manager with the necessary technical expertise and analytical capabilities to contribute effectively to the production planning lifecycle and supply chain operations within the automotive industry. General Experience The candidate for this position should bring a wealth of experience to handle the dynamic responsibilities required. Specifically, the desired experience includes: Between 5 to 8 years of progressive experience in production planning, supply chain management, or a related field, especially within the automotive sector or a manufacturing environment. Demonstrated ability to manage production schedules, coordinate cross-functional activities, and optimize resource allocation. Hands-on experience with product development life cycles and transferring new designs into production-ready stages. Exposure to advanced manufacturing processes and an understanding of sourcing strategies to support evolving product designs. A proven track record of collaborating effectively with suppliers, engineers, and operational teams to achieve business goals. Familiarity with production planning software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to facilitate efficient manufacturing workflows. Experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence.
