The Role
The Mackenzie Institutional Sales & Service team is accepting applications for the position Senior Analyst, Institutional Client Service to join our Toronto-based team. This role reports to the Director, Institutional Relationship Management.
This is a multi-faceted position supporting institutional client relationships across onboarding, ongoing servicing, and sales enablement. The successful candidate will act as a key liaison between clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners, delivering a high standard of service and operational excellence.
The role requires a strong understanding of institutional client needs, familiarity with investment products and services, and the ability to support complex client relationships in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary internal point of contact for an assigned group of institutional client portfolios, responding to inquiries and service requests (e.g., contributions, withdrawals, reporting requests, audits, contract amendments)
- Lead and manage client onboarding and account lifecycle activities, including IMAs, guidelines, and KYC/AML requirements
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth onboarding, transitions, and account closures
- Prepare, review and deliver client reporting and deliverables (monthly, quarterly, annual), ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Customize client materials and presentations for client meetings
- Coordinate client meeting logistics, including preparation, materials, and follow-ups
- Collaborate with internal teams (Sales, Portfolio Management, Trading, Legal, Compliance, Operations) and external partners (clients, consultants, custodians, transition managers) to resolve issues and deliver solutions
- Maintain and enhance consultant databases (e.g., eVestment, Morningstar), improving data quality and coverage
- Support the preparation of RFPs, RFIs, DDQs, and client presentations as required
- Ensure all client and sales activities are accurately documented in CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce)
- Provide support for ad hoc requests and contribute to team projects and process improvements
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree in business, finance, or a related field
- 3–5 years of experience supporting institutional clients within an asset management or investment consulting environment
- Experience supporting client relationships, including meeting preparation and due diligence processes
- Strong client service orientation with the ability to manage complex and time-sensitive requests
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Successful completion or progress toward the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or an equivalent industry-recognized investment designation (e.g., IFIC, CFA, CIM)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of, or progress toward, the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and/or Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) designation considered an asset
- Experience with Salesforce and eVestment platforms preferred
The expected annual base salary range for this role is 72,500 - 91,000 , which is determined based on skills, knowledge and experience and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for annual short-term incentive, health and well-being benefits, retirement and savings plan, paid time off and career development.
