About the Role: The Remote Triage Nurse plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by assessing and prioritizing patient needs through telephonic or virtual communication. This position involves evaluating symptoms, providing appropriate medical advice, and determining the urgency of care required to ensure patient safety and effective resource utilization. The nurse will collaborate closely with healthcare providers to facilitate timely interventions and referrals, enhancing patient outcomes. By working remotely, the nurse contributes to expanding access to healthcare services across diverse populations within the United States. Ultimately, this role supports the healthcare system by reducing unnecessary emergency visits and guiding patients to the most appropriate level of care. Minimum Qualifications: Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States. (qualification may be met by an experienced LPN with a minimum of 5 years experience)
Minimum of 2 years clinical nursing experience, preferably in emergency, urgent care, or primary care settings.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, clinical protocols, and triage procedures.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to assess and counsel patients remotely.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and telehealth technology.
Preferred Qualifications: Certification in Telephone or Telehealth Nursing (e.g., CTN or CPHQ).
Experience working in a remote or virtual healthcare environment.
Familiarity with multiple EHR systems and teletriage software platforms.
Background in patient education and chronic disease management.
Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments via phone or video calls to evaluate symptoms and medical history.
Provide evidence-based medical advice and education to patients, ensuring clear communication and understanding.
Determine the urgency of patient conditions and prioritize care accordingly, including directing patients to emergency services when necessary.
Document all patient interactions accurately and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and privacy standards.
Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and follow-up.
