We are partnering with an innovative Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP) on a mission to protect customer data and deliver technology that is available, productive, and secure. Our client works with leading security technologies to protect a dynamic set of enterprise-class customers across hospitality, financial services, manufacturing, and communications. They're known for taking ownership, obsessing over their promises to customers, and staying ahead of every threat.

We are looking for a Sales Engineer to serve as the technical backbone of a consultative, channel-driven sales motion — translating complex security challenges into clear, compelling solutions.

Sector: Managed Security Services (MSSP), Cybersecurity

Sales Motion: Direct + Channel/Partner-Led (VARs, distributors, MDF, co-sell)

Customer Profile: Enterprise-class organizations across hospitality, financial services, manufacturing, and communications

Location: Remote — Eastern or Central US time zones

The Role:

As Sales Engineer, you'll partner with account executives, channel managers, and partner sales engineers to win and retain business, serving as the trusted technical voice throughout the sales cycle. You'll be equally comfortable presenting in a customer boardroom or enabling a VAR's technical team.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on MSSP experience and functions as a force multiplier for the partner ecosystem.

What You'll Do

Lead Technical Discovery & Solutioning

  • Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer security environments, gaps, and requirements
  • Serve as trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle — architecture, scoping, and security operations
  • Document solution proposals mapping services (MDR, SOC, SIEM, EDR, Advisory, and more) to customer security posture needs

Drive Channel Enablement

  • Support the channel ecosystem through joint sales calls, technical workshops, and co-selling motions
  • Train partner sales/technical teams on solution positioning and differentiation
  • Build and maintain technical enablement assets — battle cards, scripts, and partner-facing content

Bridge Sales & Delivery

  • Act as technical liaison between partners and internal advisory/operations teams
  • Partner closely with AEs and channel managers to advance opportunities and shape deal strategy
  • Support smooth handoff from pre-sales to onboarding and service delivery
  • Respond to RFPs, RFIs, and security questionnaires with accurate, persuasive technical content

What We're Looking For

Experience

  • 3+ years in a sales engineering, solutions architect, or pre-sales role within an MSSP, MDR provider, or cybersecurity vendor
  • Strong understanding of security operations — SOC workflows, threat detection and response, SIEM, EDR/XDR, and managed security delivery models
  • Demonstrated experience supporting both direct sales and channel/partner sales motions

Skills & Traits

  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both practitioners and business executives
  • Experience responding to RFPs and leading proof-of-concept engagements
  • Familiarity with the channel ecosystem (VARs, distributors, MDF, co-sell programs) strongly preferred
  • Relevant certifications a plus (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or vendor-specific certs such as SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Microsoft Security)
