[Remote] Sales Engineer (Contract / Remote / N America)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. 2Oaks Consulting is a specialist boutique firm seeking a Sales Engineer with extensive experience in Financial Services. The role involves providing technical expertise in pre-sales conversations, building demos, and ensuring a smooth transition into implementation while engaging with clients at various organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical subject-matter-expert in pre-sales conversations: answer client questions about architecture, hosting, workflows, integration, security, etc
• Build and deliver compelling demo's tailored to client use cases
• Translate technical capabilities into clear business outcomes and use cases
• Communicate with confidence across all levels of the organisation, from developers to executives with particular focus on C-suite and decision-makers
• Assist in the planning of implementation (Sales handoff) and liaise with delivery teams
• Remain engaged post-sale as a knowledge steward, ensuring promises translate into delivered value
• Travel occasionally to meet clients, attend strategic sessions, and represent the product at conferences

Skills

• 10+ years of experience in Financial Services (banking strongly preferred)
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent proven experience)
• Highly articulate, personable, and confident in both one-on-one and group settings
• Proven ability to engage, present, and influence at Executive level
• Exceptional ability to simplify complexity and communicate in plain language
• Strong technical foundation in software (SaaS/cloud, APIs, integrations, workflows)
• Skilled in using diagrams and models to conceptualize and explain solutions
• Naturally curious, detail-oriented, and unafraid to ask questions
• Hands-on approach willing to roll up sleeves and get stuck in
• Track record in pre-sales, solution engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
• Must be based in North America (U.S. preferred, ideally South Atlantic region for proximity to Charlotte, NC)
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Relevant certifications (AWS, Azure, TOGAF, security)
• Familiarity with CRM, sales enablement tools, or structured pre-sales processes
• Experience bridging sales and delivery teams in enterprise environments
