The Role

As a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer, you will be the backbone of our Linux and virtual infrastructure systems, providing essential administration for both on-premises and cloud-based solutions. Your primary responsibilities will include designing, deploying, and supporting robust infrastructure solutions across the enterprise. You will also be a crucial collaborator across various teams, addressing critical technology challenges and enhancing customer experience.

Location

This is a remote position, and requires participation in a rotating on-call schedule every 7 weeks, ensuring round-the-clock support.

Main Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day administration and support for OS (Linux/Unix) and related infrastructure.
• Provide direct support to internal stakeholders for highly available application solutions.
• Engage in site reliability engineering activities.
• Evaluate standards, practices, technologies, and ecosystems.
• Make strategic recommendations for improvements and future initiatives.
• Lead implementation tasks, including operational standards and automation.
• Create, document, deploy, and maintain best practices, risk assessments, security protocols, and business continuity plans.
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex technical issues across multiple domains, providing technical support to internal stakeholders.
• Communicate effectively with various management levels regarding projects and initiatives.
• Lead the migration of legacy technologies to modern standards.
• Mentor and guide other team members.

What We Look For in a Candidate

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, or related fields, or equivalent experience.
• A minimum of 6 years in Linux (Red Hat, Rocky, Ubuntu) administration.
• A minimum of 6 years in Unix (Solaris, HP-UX) administration.
• Experience with automation and orchestration technologies (Ansible, Terraform, shell scripting).
• Exceptional troubleshooting and diagnostic skills across the IT technology stack.
• Strong interpersonal, written, verbal communication, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to communicate complex technology topics to a diverse audience.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary based on national data, which varies by location and individual skills, experience, and other relevant factors. Salaries range from $105,786 to $155,152, depending on the state you reside in.
